ALEXANDRIA, VA (June 10, 2010) Praxis today announced several appointments for members of its Accounting & Finance Department.
Praxis appointed Pamela W. Holmes as "Director, Internal Audit and Human Resources," reporting to Jane T. Schaub.
Commenting on the appointment, Ms. Schaub said, "Pam has the right experience to lead Praxis's internal audit activities including operational, administrative, financial, governmental, and information technology areas. She will also be responsible for driving continuous improvement in internal controls across the enterprise."
In her new role, Pam's audit and administration responsibilities will encompass corporate-wide accounting, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, and related internal controls. Pam, who is currently the corporate Comptroller, will also oversee the Human Resources department in her new capacity.
Pam joined Praxis in 2002 and has advanced through a number of accounting and finance positions with increasing responsibilities. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, and she is active in her church, civic, and service groups, and serves on an advisory board to Bishop Ireton High School. Her appointment is effective June 5, 2010.
Praxis appointed Katrina M. Sorrell as "Financial Controller," reporting to Jane T. Schaub.
"I'm very pleased to be appointing someone of Katrina's caliber," said Ms. Schaub. "She brings strong financial leadership and over 16 years' experience with accounting and financial controls, and she has spent the last six years in senior financial management functions at both Praxis and other companies. I am confident that her background and skill set will be a benefit to Praxis, and look forward to the many contributions she will make in this key role for years to come."
In her new role, she will work closely with Pamela W. Holmes, Director of Internal Audits and Human Resources, and will participate in corporate strategic planning as a key member of our executive team. Katrina will have overall responsibility for the corporate-wide controllership, accounting, and financial reporting for Praxis. She will oversee accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project budgeting/reporting.
Katrina joined Praxis in 2007 and has advanced through a number of accounting and finance positions with increasing responsibilities, last serving as Assistant Controller. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Maryland in College Park and a Master of Science in Accounting from Strayer University in Alexandria, and she is active in her church and other civic organizations, including several professional associations. Her appointment is effective June 5, 2010.
